Last January 28, in the striking Salone d’Onore of the Milan Triennale, Walkabout, a unique book published by Marsilio Arte and Fondazione Cologni, was presented. Among the protagonists of the evening was also Silvio Antiga, president of Grafiche Antiga, who shared the result of a project of great artistic and cultural value.

Described as a “dreamlike journey into Milanese creativity,” Walkabout is the result of a long journey that began in 2013 under the guidance of Margherita Pincioni. A choral work that celebrates Milan through the work of designers, architects, illustrators, photographers and stylists, embellished by Matteo Cirenei’s photographs.

At the heart of the project is the contribution of designer Leonardo Sonnoli, who was able to translate the “creative-craft” spirit into a unique book. Each copy of Walkabout features a different cover, the result of an innovative experiment conducted in collaboration with the Grafiche Antiga team. Calibrated paints and solvents created original monotypes, transforming each volume into a unique piece, in the wake of Bruno Munari’s playful and experimental approach.

Grafiche Antiga did not limit itself to taking care of the printing and binding stages: it fully embraced the collective spirit of the work, helping to give form and substance to a project that celebrates the creativity and excellence of Italian craftsmanship.

Thanks to projects such as Walkabout, Grafiche Antiga continues to confirm itself as the partner of choice for those seeking solutions that combine innovation, craftsmanship and precision.
