Bolivia

Designed by Pentagon, Paris, for the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Arts and published in a 3-language edition (French/English/Spanish), the book “Bolivia”, printed by Grafiche Antiga, opens with a text of Raymond Depardon, photographer and founder of the Gamma photoagency in 1976, who joined Magnum in 1978. His words witness the unique experience of his travels in Bolivia.

The contrast of the black and white photographs is made more vivid thanks to the UV tritone Black printing on paper Freelife Vellum White 140g. The deep intensity of the black inks is extendend to the Bodonian bound cover, while on the spine the bookcloth is inspired by motifs and colors of traditional Bolivian fabrics, that the Parisian studio arranged in 96 different layouts
